Words from the Director:
He is Risen! The Easter program will be on Thursday, April 6th at 10:30am. The preschool will be closed on Friday, April 7th for the church wide Good Friday Experience. Feel free to stop in on Good Friday for a self-guided tour, which is available from 2:00pm-7:00pm. On Saturday, April 8 at 3:00pm & 4:45pm and Sunday, April 9th at 8:00am, 9:45am and 11:30am an amazing Easter service will be held at the Pursuit Church! I would love to sit by you if you can make it!
How to Teach Learning Through Play
Incorporating play into all areas of preschool is easy as long as the displays are open-ended and easy to access. Often, in the preschool we play with every single toy in the room and sometimes we just play with a few. The students enjoy the structured approach along with the freedom to explore. When you come to the preschool, you will quickly see there are toys and games in each center and the children are learning, engaging, and growing so beautifully! The Zones of Regulation
The preschoolers have been working hard on understanding the many emotions we all have. We can feel so much more than just happy, mad or sad. We have been using the zones to help discuss our feelings. Each morning we do a little check in and talk about what is on our minds. We come up with ideas on how we can get back into the green zone, where we are ready to learn. Each preschooler understands that it is okay to feel any array of emotion from the beginning of the day until the end of the day, as long as it is talked about and not just shoved into their hearts to carry alone. Jesus teaches us to build a strong house on His Rock and that He will carry us! The preschoolers have really grasped onto this, and I trust they will carry it throughout each day!
